The Clinical Hours page has two different types of hours: Scheduled and Actual. This article will explain the differences between the two and the times you should use one over the other.

Scheduled Clinical Hours are used to calculate provider's production goals and the Production Per Hour metric in Provider Pulse.

Actual Clinical Hours can be used to override the Scheduled Hours, however the Actual Hours will only have an affect on the Production Per Hour metric, not on a provider's goals.

Actual hours are not mandatory and will default the N/A. They should be used when a provider's Clinical Hours for a day unexpectedly change (for example on a sick day) and the Production Per Hour metric needs to be adjusted accordingly.

How to Change Scheduled Hours

  1. Access Settings by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner

  2. Access the Clinical Hours option

  3. Click on the Scheduled Hours number:

  4. This will open a menu where you can change the hours as well as set a frequency for the new hours (they can be applied for a single day, recur once a week, or recur every other week):

How to Change Actual Hours

  1. Access the Clinical Hours feature

  2. Click on the Actual Hours number or where it says N/A:

  3. This will open a menu where you can now enter the Actual Hours for this day.

    1. Unlike the scheduled hours you can only set Actual Hours one day at a time as they should only be used when the provider's worked hours for a day are changed unexpectedly, if a provider is planning on having different hours on a future date then it is best to change the Scheduled Hours instead
