Dental Intelligence payments in Engagement enables your practice to collect more. It simplifies the process for both the practice and your patients by offering a variety of personalized payment methods.
Patients can pay at a physical terminal or receive a text or email with a link to pay their balance at home. Collecting payments over the phone is easier than ever for office staff thanks to the virtual terminal built into the Engagement dashboard.

In this article, you will learn how to navigate the dashboard to find payment action areas.
Access the Inbox
To see all payments made, click on the Payment filter
Click Show Details to see additional payment information
Update the paid amount in the patient's ledger in your practice management software, then mark this task as complete in your Inbox.

Here, in the patients section, you will find a list of all of the patients in your practice. From there, you will be able to send a payment request, complete a physical terminal payment, or access the virtual terminal via the “three dots” menu at the patient level.
Access the Patients Tab
Click on the Three Dot Menu
Hover over the Payments option to send a payment request, or complete a *physical or *virtual terminal payment. *Physical and virtual terminal features are only available for offices using our preferred payment processing service Clearent.

Reporting details for payments can be found here, and are categorized by Transactions, Deposits, and Payment Requests. To learn more about how to read these reports, click here.
Under the default view of “Status” in the Services tab, you can confirm that Payments have been enabled for the practice.
