What are the Benefits of Setting Goals?

Setting goals in Dental Intelligence is important for several reasons.

  • It helps to keep your practice focused on key performance indicators (KPIs) that are critical to the success of your business. By setting goals, you can identify areas where improvement is needed and track progress over time.

  • Setting goals can help to motivate your team and create a culture of accountability. When goals are clearly defined and communicated, team members are more likely to work together towards a common objective, and to take ownership of their individual contributions to the overall success of the practice.

  • It allows you to leverage the full power of the software. By setting specific, measurable goals and tracking progress towards those goals, you can identify trends and patterns that may not be immediately apparent, and use that information to make data-driven decisions that can help to optimize your practice's performance.

Tracking Goals

Once you have determined a baseline goal for your practice and each provider, set provider goals and hours in Dental Intelligence. They will be displayed on the Morning Huddle and Performance Board. These tools help to ensure that everyone on your team is aware of the goals, and can track progress towards achieving them.

Step One: Set Provider Goals and Clinical Hours in Analytics

  • By setting goals for each provider and their clinical hours, the practice can better manage its resources. This can include ensuring that each provider is fully utilized and that the practice is able to operate at optimal capacity.

  • Setting goals and clinical hours can also help improve communication between providers and the practice.

  • This can lead to a more collaborative and cohesive approach to patient care, resulting in better outcomes for patients.

How Do I Know if My Practice is Improving?

Setting goals in Dental Intelligence is a powerful way to optimize your practice's performance and drive success. By adding provider codes and clinical hours, you can ensure that the software is properly configured to reflect your practice's specific needs, and by setting goals, you can track progress towards key performance indicators and identify areas where improvement is needed.

  • Monitor progress towards your goals using the Performance Board, and adjust your strategy as needed to ensure that you stay on track.

  • Track the previous 3 months of how your practice or provider performed previously. This will give you a baseline to set your goals from.

  • Set specific, measurable goals for each metric you want to improve. For example, you may set a goal to increase production by 10% over the next 3 months. Click on the green number to set a new goal.

  • Click into Restoration/Hygiene/Other to see production gathered from that specific procedure type.
