Keeping your hygiene schedule full is essential for the success of your dental practice. One of the best tools available to help you achieve this is Dental Intelligence, which includes the Engagement platform (formerly known as Modento). In this blog post, we will discuss how to fill your hygiene schedule using both Dental Intelligence and Engagement.
Helpful Hint:
You can easily switch between your Dental Intelligence services (Analytics, Engagement [Modento] and LocalMed) by selecting our Product Switcher icon in the top right hand corner of each dashboard. Click here to learn more about this!
How to Find Opportunities
Step 1: Check the Morning Huddle
One of the easiest ways to fill your hygiene schedule is by checking the morning huddle to see if any patients coming in for treatment need hygiene services. If so, you can schedule them on the spot and fill any openings you may have.
Step 2: Use Patient Finder
Another useful tool in Dental Intelligence is Patient Finder, which allows you to filter patients based on a variety of criteria. To fill your hygiene schedule, we recommend filtering for active patients who are due for hygiene more than one day but less than 365 days ago. You can also filter for primary insurance remaining and other relevant factors.
Take Action!
Step 1: Send Appointment Links
Once you have identified patients who are due for hygiene services, you can reach out to them by phone or through Engagement.
Engagement allows you to send appointment links to patients via text message or email, making it easy for them to schedule their next hygiene appointment with just a few clicks.

Step 2: Create Follow-Ups
For patients who are not immediately available or who do not respond to appointment links, you can create follow-ups in Dental Intelligence.
This can be done individually or in bulk, allowing you to efficiently manage your follow-up process and fill your hygiene schedule.

Track Your Efforts
Step 1: Look in the New Patient Metric
Another way to fill your hygiene schedule is by looking at the New Patient Metric in Dental Intelligence.
You can look at lost patients who have not been in for an appointment in 18 months or longer.
By reaching out to these patients, you may be able to bring them back into your practice and fill gaps in your hygiene schedule.

Step 2: Track Pre-Appointment and Hygiene Reappointment
It is important to be proactive about pre-appointment and hygiene reappointment. This means ensuring that every patient leaves your office with a future appointment scheduled.
