According to Engagement's [Modento] guardian logic, Engagement [Modento] will message whoever is listed as the Guardian in Family Settings. This is usually whoever is listed as the Guarantor in the Practice Management Software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental). You can update this setting in Engagement [Modento] by following the steps below.

How to Update the Guardian in Engagement [Modento]

Step by Step Instructions:

  1. Go to the patient

  2. Click into the 3 Dot Menu next to their initials/name

  3. Hover over Settings

  4. Click Family Settings

  5. Here you can Remove the current Guardian, this will send communication directly to the patient

How To View All Family Members

Step by Step Instructions:

  1. Go to the patient

  2. Select the 3 Dot Menu

  3. Hover over Info

  4. Click Family View to see everyone listed as a family

Support has the capability to set each patient as independent, meaning Engagement [Modento] will message each patient individually based on their contact details in the Practice Management Software. This also means that family groups will receive separate messages for each appointment in their family. You will need to contact support ( to have this set up.
