How to Send Insurance Claims from Dentrix

Learn how to submit claims from Dentrix to your DI Insurance module using the PMS Dental Plugin

With the PMS Dental Plugin installed, you can quickly and efficiently submit claims from Dentrix directly to DI Insurance, saving you time and keeping your claims submissions organized.

How to Submit Claims from Dentrix

Preferred Method: Claim Sync

  1. When you are ready to upload a batch of claims to DI Insurance, click on the PMS Dental Plugin icon on your Desktop

  2. Select the Claims you would like to Process. These Claims are populated from your Dentrix Office Manager screen

  3. If you make any adjustments to the Claim(s) in Dentrix, you can return to the PMS Dental Plugin, and press Refresh to see the updates reflected

  4. Click Process. An upload progress screen should now appear

  5. Once the Claim(s) have successfully processed, DI Insurance will automatically launch and show its Claim Management dashboard

  • Electronic attachments will NOT be taken out of Dentrix automatically, and should instead be attached using other attachment workflows such as via screen capture.

  • Medical claims are NOT eligible to be sent through DI Insurance.

Additional Claim Submission Methods

Print Capture Method

  1. Open the Office Manager in Dentrix by clicking the brown chair icon

  2. Select File then Printer Setup

  3. Change the default report printer to Vyne Claims on VDP: and click OK

  4. In the Office Manager, highlight the claims you want to send to DI Insurance

  5. Click the printer icon (this will send your claims to the DI Insurance module)

  6. Open your DI Insurance module and go to Claims Management to verify all necessary claims have been added

  7. Once you have verified your insurance claims have been added to the DI Insurance module, look over the Status column to find any potential missing information and update any claims that need adjustments

Note for Dentrix users about using Vyne's Print Capture method to submit claims:

If you encounter this error when printing claims: "Activity detected from an unauthorized third-party":

Dentrix’s 9/23/25 update may have disabled Vyne services, causing claim submission errors or blank pages when printing claims. If you encounter this error and need assistance, please attempt to submit claims using the preferred Claim Sync method (explained above).

Manual Entry Method

  1. Login to DI Insurance and click on Claims in the left sidebar

  2. On your Claims Management page, select the ellipsis icon (...) on the far right

  3. Select Settings

  4. Toggle the “Enable Manual Claims” switch to “On”

  5. Select the Create Manual Claim button

  6. Complete all necessary Claim information

  7. Click Save and Exit to send later or Send Claim to send immediately
