The Morning Huddle in Dental Intelligence helps your team come together every day with clear insights, goals, and action items. Instead of pulling reports or digging through schedules, you can see everything you need in one place. With quick access to yesterday’s results, today’s priorities, and tomorrow’s opportunities, your team can stay focused on what matters most—delivering great patient care and hitting your practice goals.

Getting Started

Before your first Morning Huddle, make sure each provider has:

  • A Production Per Hour Goal

  • Assigned Clinical Hours

This ensures that all metrics you see in the huddle are accurate and meaningful.

How the Morning Huddle Works

The huddle is divided into three main tabs: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Each one is designed to help your team look back, act now, and plan ahead.

Yesterday: Review & Celebrate

  • See how your team performed on the previous working day.

  • Celebrate wins and identify areas for improvement.

  • Click on any metric for more details or to assign follow-up tasks.

  • Use Edit Metrics to customize which performance measures appear.

Today: Focus on the Day Ahead

  • Stay on top of patient care and priority tasks.

  • Click on tiles to see details and take action right away.

  • Print schedules or switch to the Schedule by Operatory view for a clearer look at your day.

  • If you’ve made updates and don’t see them reflected, clear the data cache for the latest results.

How to Change the Schedule by Operatory View Order

The order of operatories in Dental Intelligence doesn’t necessarily match the layout in your practice management software. Customizing their order makes your huddle view cleaner and more intuitive.

  1. In the Morning Huddle, navigate to the Today or Tomorrow tab

  2. Switch to Schedule by Operatory

  3. Click Filter Operatories

  4. Use the checkboxes to add or remove operatories from view

  5. Drag the arrow icons to rearrange them

  6. Click Apply to confirm your changes

Tomorrow: Prepare in Advance

  • Spot open time slots and upcoming needs

  • Layout is the same as Today for easy planning

  • Use Suggested Patients to fill gaps before they happen

How to Use the Suggested Patients List

When you see an open block highlighted in green:

  1. Click the block to generate a tailored list of patients.

  2. Click "Why these patients?" to see why they were suggested.

  3. Use Snooze to hide a patient for 12 hours.

  4. Open the patient card to reschedule or contact them.

💡 Tip: If no default provider is set in your practice management software, switch to the All Dentists view for more suggestions.

Customizing Your Huddle

Click on the Morning Huddle Settings gear to:

Change the Huddle date

  1. In the top-right corner of the Huddle, click the settings gear to open the Morning Huddle Settings

  2. Click on the calendar icon, then choose the date you'd like to view

  3. Click Save. The Huddle will refresh to show performance metrics, schedules, and opportunities from the selected date

  4. To revert the date back to the current date, click the Reset button. Otherwise, the Huddle will continue displaying the date you selected

Clear the cache if data isn't loading correctly

The Morning Huddle uses a cache-based system, which means data is generated only once per day to optimize loading speed. If the data doesn’t refresh automatically, clearing the cache is key to resolving data inconsistencies or stale information.

  1. In the top-right corner of the Morning Huddle, click the settings gear to open the Morning Huddle Settings menu

  2. Click the Clear Data Cache button. The page will automatically refresh and reload the latest data

Turn the Huddle Celebration on/off

Stay on top of your Morning Huddle and get a daily streak going with the Huddle Celebration enabled.

You'll notice on your Morning Huddle Celebration that it calculates the percentage of all reappointed patients seen (not just hygiene appointments exclusively). Broken appointments are not factored into this celebration.

  1. In the top-right corner of the Morning Huddle, click the settings gear to open the Morning Huddle Settings menu

  2. If you'd like to enable/disable the Huddle Celebration, just click on the toggle and then click Save

Choose default view: Provider or Operatory

Choose which schedule you'd like to show in the initial default view of the Today/Tomorrow tabs. Choose Operatory to show the Operatory Schedule by default.

  1. In the top-right corner of the Morning Huddle, click the settings gear to open the Morning Huddle Settings menu

  2. Choose Schedule by Provider to show the Provider Schedule by default, or choose Schedule by Operatory to show the Operatory Schedule by default

  3. To apply your changes, click Save

How to Restrict Production Number Access in the Morning Huddle

  1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the Dental Intelligence dashboard

  2. Go to the Users tab

  3. Click on the 3-dot menu of the profile of the team member whose permissions you want to adjust

  4. In the Permissions tab, set the Dashboards permission to None and click Save. This will hide their access to Scorecards, Performance Board, Collections Board, and Provider Pulse

Understand What Changes

With the Dashboards permission set to 'None':

  • On Yesterday and Last Week tabs, the Month-To-Date production bar and summary will disappear.

  • On Today and Tomorrow tabs, production numbers, goals, and scheduled production on provider schedules are hidden. Note: Customizable metrics must be manually removed via the Edit Metrics process by an admin.

Best Practices

Daily huddles with Dental Intelligence lead to stronger communication, better teamwork, and improved results. By using Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow together, you’ll transform your team huddle into a powerful tool for growth and patient care.

  • Hold your huddle at the same time every day

  • Include the full team to keep everyone aligned

  • Use:

    • Yesterday to review & celebrate

    • Today to act

    • Tomorrow to plan ahead

  • Use Suggested Patients to keep your schedule full
