Dental Intelligence Explorer is currently only available for Early Access customers.
What Is Explorer?
Explorer is a conversational AI assistant built directly inside Dental Intelligence. Instead of navigating multiple dashboards or building reports manually, simply ask Explorer a question and get an instant, actionable answer powered by your own practice data.
No SQL. No spreadsheets. No switching between tools. Everything happens inside Dental Intelligence, so your data stays secure and HIPAA compliant.
Who is Explorer for?
Explorer is designed for practice owners, office managers, and business leaders across solo practices, group practices, and DSOs—anyone who needs faster answers from their practice data without needing to be a data analyst.
What You Can Do with Explorer
1. Ask Questions About Your Practice
Explorer understands your practice data and answers questions in plain, conversational language. You can ask about any metric tracked in Dental Intelligence—revenue, production, patient trends, collections, treatment acceptance, and more.
Example questions you can ask:
❝ What's driving our patient acquisition trends this quarter?
❝ Which provider had the highest production last month?
❝ How does our hygiene reappointment rate compare to last year?
❝ What's our average treatment acceptance rate by location?
2. Explore Trends and Get Visualizations
Explorer doesn't just answer your question—it shows you the data visually. Ask for a chart, graph, or comparison table and Explorer generates it on the spot. You can download these visuals directly from the chat to use in your presentations or team meetings.
💡 Tip: Try asking Explorer to 'show me a chart of production by month for the past 6 months' or 'compare hygiene revenue across my locations.'
3. Get Actionable Recommendations
Explorer doesn't stop at showing you what's happening—it tells you what to do about it. When you ask about a KPI or performance issue, Explorer identifies the underlying drivers and suggests specific actions to improve results.
Explorer can help you:
Pinpoint which second-level metrics are dragging down your top-line numbers
Understand what changes would have the biggest impact on growth
Run "what-if" scenarios to test a strategy before you implement it, like "What if we increased crown production by 15%?" or "Which KPIs should we focus on to improve collections?"
4. Create Presentation-Ready Content
Need to explain practice performance to your doctor or get your team aligned on improvement goals? Explorer can generate the content you need—directly in chat.
You can ask Explorer to create:
Executive summaries — What's going well + What we can improve
Emails to share performance updates with your team
Meeting briefs with key metrics and recommended talking points
Downloadable charts and visuals for presentations
💡 Tip: Save time before your next team huddle by asking Explorer: 'Summarize wins and opportunities based on last month's performance.'
5. Continue Previous Conversations
Explorer saves your chat history, so you can pick up where you left off. Reference past recommendations, revisit previous analyses, or build on earlier conversations without starting from scratch.
How to Access and Use Explorer
Log in to Dental Intelligence and click Explorer in your left side navigation menu. Explorer opens as a full-screen chat interface
In the chat input at the bottom of the screen, type any question about your practice or choose a suggested question. Hit Enter on your keyboard or click Send to start the conversation
Explorer will analyze your data and respond with an answer, often including charts, tables, and specific recommendations. Review the insights and ask follow-up questions to dig deeper
Use the copy option at the end of each reply to paste Explorer responses in your presentation, email, etc. Ask Explorer to draft a summary, brief, or email based on the insights you've uncovered
Ask follow-up questions or revisit past chats from your chat history to continue a previous analysis
Important: AI can make mistakes. Be sure to doublecheck important information with your practice data.
Tips for Getting the Best Results
Explorer is designed to be intuitive, but a few simple habits will help you get even more out of it:
Be specific with time periods: Instead of 'How's production?' try 'How was production in April compared to the same month last year?'
Ask follow-up questions: Explorer remembers the context of your conversation, so you can say 'Now break that down by provider' after your first question.
Use what-if questions: Explore strategy before you act: 'What would happen to revenue if we added one hygiene day per week?'
Request the format you need: Tell Explorer what you want: 'Give me this as a table' or 'Write me an email I can send to my team about this.'
Start broad, then drill down: Begin with a big-picture question and then narrow in: 'Which location is underperforming, and why?'
🔒 Your data stays secure. Explorer operates entirely within Dental Intelligence. Your practice data is never exported, shared externally, or sent to a generic AI tool. Explorer is fully BAA compliant, so you can ask questions with confidence knowing your data is protected.
