Automated check-in requests will simplify the check in process for you and your patients by going mobile!

In this article, we'll go over:

Review and Edit Check-In Request Message Verbiage

Before activating automated check-in requests, be sure to review the content of the message to ensure that it aligns with your practice voice. You can do this by accessing Engagement Settings, then clicking on the Verbiage tab.

To update your check-in request message content, locate the Kiosk Check-In and Patient Self Check-In sections. Click on each to expand and edit the message content before activating automation.

Activate Automated Check-In Request Messages

Once you've reviewed your message content and are ready to activate your automated check-in requests, make your way to your TouchPoints dashboard.

  1. In the left side menu of Engagement, click on Follow Ups. Then click on TouchPoints

  2. Click on the Appointments tile, then click on the 3-dot menu next to the check-in request notification touchpoint. Click Edit to begin

  3. Next, set your configurations:

    1. Timing: Enter in the number of minutes before the appointment that you would like the check-in request to be sent

    2. To utilize a QR-code scan to check-in with the mobile app, select the checkbox. To allow the appointment status to automatically update to HERE/ARRIVED in your practice management software upon check in through Engagement, select the checkbox.

    3. Allow check-in from the mobile app (only) or app/text/email (recommended)

  4. Review the contents of the message that will be sent to patients and update in Settings > Verbiage if needed

  5. When finished, click Save

  6. Upon clicking save, you'll notice that the TouchPoint toggle will turn green and the status will show as Active. Check-in requests will now be sent to your patients

Disable or Delete Automated Check-In Requests

To disable automated check-in requests, click on the green toggle to turn it off. The status will show as inactive and the toggle will be greyed out. Once deactivated, check-in requests will no longer be sent to patients.

To completely delete your check-in automation, click on the 3-dot menu next to the TouchPoint and choose Delete.

Please note: Once your automation has been deleted, you will need to re-add the TouchPoint and all of your preferences if you would like to begin sending automated messages to patients once again.
