What do I need to do if I change or update my Practice Management Software?

Learn what to do when making changes to your existing practice management software to ensure Dental Intelligence remains in sync

In order to use Dental Intelligence, a sync with your Practice Management Software is required. This ensures all data is pulled into the dashboards for you to view metrics, schedule, or contact your patients. There are multiple Practice Management Softwares that Dental Intelligence is able to sync with. To learn which softwares are compatible with Analytics, Engagement, and LocalMed click here.

If you plan to switch from your existing practice management software (ie, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Open Dental) to another, there are steps that need to be followed to ensure you are able to access your Dental Intelligence services.

Things to Consider

  • Analytics Follow Ups DO NOT transfer over in a practice management software switch. This means that any existing open Follow Ups you have created will not automatically pull into your new Dental Intelligence portal created with your new practice management software.

  • Your old Dental Intelligence portal is purged after 30 days. This ensures users will not have access to your old account.

  • If you are switching to or from Eaglesoft: Eaglesoft does not track historical case data. This does result in a lack of historical data to view performance in Dental Intelligence.

Contact Support to Initiate a Transfer

Before transferring your practice management software, reach out to our support team and let us know which practice management software you are switching to and from. We will take over from here!

If you have Engagement and plan to switch your practice management software, we recommend reaching out to our support team at least 24 hours prior to your software transfer. When you do reach out to support, you will be scheduled with one of our sync specialists.

To complete a practice management software transfer, our support team will need access to your server computer. Your server computer is most likely a computer found in a back room in your office that is not used every day. Our support team might be able to assist in identifying your server computer. You might have an IT Group that maintains your server computer. If so, this guide can be shared with your IT Group or you can connect your IT Group with our Support Team.

The transfer takes about one full business day to process.
