As the world becomes increasingly digitized, many businesses and organizations are turning to online scheduling as a way to streamline their operations and improve customer satisfaction. By providing a scheduling widget on your website, new and existing patients can easily make an appointment without any hassle.

Create a Widget
Click on the Schedule dropdown in the left side menu, then click Online Scheduling
Click on the Widgets section, then click the Create Widget button
Give the widget an internal name (Tip: Make this something easy to identify so you and your web team will recognize it)
Choose the widget type:
Floating button. A button stays in a fixed spot on the screen, such as a corner or along the edge, as visitors scroll your site. Choose its position under "Positioning on the page."
Embedded button. The button sits inside your web page, right where you want it, such as next to your "Book an appointment" text or in your header. Instead of picking a screen position, you'll enter a Target element, which tells the widget which spot on your site page to appear in (for example,
#my-buttonor.widget-container). If you're not sure what to enter, your web designer or website provider can give you this.
Embedded view. Instead of a button, the full scheduling experience appears directly on your page, so patients can book without clicking anything first. Because there's no button, you won't see the "Button name" or "Positioning on the page" settings for this type.
If you've selected a floating or embedded button, add a button name that will be visible to patients on your website
For all widget types, select the custom scheduling link that should be tied to the widget
Once you've added all necessary widget details, click Create to finish.
Note about Google Analytics tracking: If you have enabled Google Tag Manager in Online Scheduling General Settings or added a GA4 Measurement ID to a custom link, patient leads and acquisition details are captured, providing you greater insights into your site traffic. Click here to learn more.
How to Access Widget Details to Add Widget Code to Your Site
Once you've created implemented on your site, online scheduling widgets will show 6 months worth of availabilities. Your widget code can be copied from the widget details in Dental Intelligence:
Click on the Schedule dropdown in the left side menu, then click Online Scheduling
Click on the Widgets section. Locate the widget that you would like to add to your website, then click on the 3-dot menu and choose Details
Copy the generated widget code by clicking Copy Code
Once copied, share the code with your web developer to have it to pasted to your practice website
Important note: Be sure to add the online scheduling widget code on all of the site pages that you would like to show the widget. The online scheduling widget will only be visible on pages that contain the code.
Once the code has been added to your website, your site will now show an online scheduling widget/button:
Note: Your web developer will assist you with how the button will look on your website. Dental Intelligence does not assist with widget design or styling.
Clicking on the button will open the Dental Intelligence online scheduling portal:
Manage Existing Widgets
In the Widgets section of Online Scheduling Configuration, you'll see a list of all practice widgets:
In your Widgets list, get a birds eye view of widget details:
Internal name
Button name
Custom scheduling link mapped
Widget type
Conversion rate % (the number of times an appointment was actually scheduled via the widget divided by the total number of times the widget was opened)
Scheduled total
Is visible
If there is a hazard icon displayed, the custom scheduling link has been broken or deleted and needs to be relinked.
Click on the three dot menu to edit, hide, or delete the widget. Any updates you make will be reflected on your website automatically.
