When you make a change to the price of a service on your Eaglesoft ledger, change the provider or delete a service, Eaglesoft records this in a specific way. This article will show you how to read the Day Sheet report and determine your actual gross production.

This document will explore three scenarios:

Note: To run a simple report that will reflect the current state of your data and the actual production in your practice, run the Daily Production/Collection Summary Report. If you would like instructions on how to run this Production and Collection report in Eaglesoft click here.

Changing the Price of a Service

On the patient ledger changing the price of a service is possible in Eaglesoft. We will not show how to do that in this document, we will just show the results. You will also see that viewing deletions has been turned on in this instance. If you would like to know how to turn this on, go here.

This Patient received a Prophy which was walked out at $98, then the price was changed to $48, a $50 difference.

Report Prior to the Price Change

*Total Gross Production: 448-622= (174)

Report after Price Change

Notice that after the price change the services increased by $48 and the deleted services decreased by $48. This has decreased gross production by the $50 (the change of decrease in price).

*Total Gross Production: 496-720 = (224)

Deleting a Service

On the patient ledger, deleting a service and its associated production is possible in Eaglesoft. We will not show how to do that in this document, we will just show the results. You will also see that viewing deletions has been turned on in this instance. If you would like to know how to turn this on, go here.

This Patient received an Exam which was walked out at $59, then that service was deleted from the ledger.

Report Prior to the Price Change:

*Total Gross Production: 496-720 = (224)

Notice that after the service deletion the Services amount did NOT change, even though the service was deleted it is still included in the amount. The Deleted Services now includes the $59. This has decreased gross production by $59.

Total Gross Production: 496-779 = (283)

Changing a Provider on a Service

On the patient ledger changing the provider of a service and its associated production is possible in Eaglesoft. We will not show how to do that in this document, we will just show the results. You will also see that viewing deletions has been turned on in this instance. If you would like to know how to turn this on, go here.

This Patient received an Exam which was walked out at $59, then that service was changed from one provider to another on the ledger.

Report Prior to the Price Change

*Total Gross Production: 496-779 = (283)

Ledger View after Price Change

Report after Price Change:

Notice that after the provider change on the service the Services amount actually increased by and additional $59 although no additional charges were added. This is now essentially a double charge for the same procedure. Deleted Services also now includes the $59. This means that the only way to get gross production is to subtract the deleted service from the Services.

*Total Gross Production: 555-838 = (283)
