In the Analytics patient card, click on the calendar icon. Schedule directly from the calendar by clicking Book Now, or click Create Scheduling Link to send a custom link to the patient so they can choose a date that works with their schedule.

Note: The ability to schedule from within the patient card is only available if you have LocalMed online scheduling set up in Analytics. If you do not use LocalMed, the Calendar icon will not appear in the patient card.

Book Now

To schedule an appointment for a patient:

  1. Search for a patient in the search bar or click on the patient name anywhere in Analytics to open their patient card

  2. Click on the calendar icon, then click Book Now

  3. The next page will autofill the patient's name and status information. Confirm this is correct and then click Next

  4. Next, select the visit type and click Next

  5. Choose the provider that the patient will see at their appointment, then click Next

  6. Select the appointment date and time, then click Next

  7. On the next page, reenter the patient's date of birth, select a payment method, and leave a message for the office (if desired). Then, click Next

  8. Confirm your previous selections and click the checkbox to agree to LocalMed's terms, then click Book Appointment to finish

Create Scheduling Link

To send a custom scheduling link to a patient:

  1. Search for a patient in the search bar or click on the patient name anywhere in Analytics to open their patient card

  2. Click on the calendar icon, then click Create Scheduling Link

  3. Next, select the reason for the visit

  4. Choose a custom schedule date or the hygiene due date

Note: Patients may not be booked before their hygiene due date

  5. Review the text preview. Customize the message that will be delivered to the patient by clicking on the pencil icon. Click into the text box to type content

  6. Add placeholders by selecting the bracket icon { }. This will enter the code for Dental Intelligence to auto-fill the message with patient or practice information so each message is unique to the patient with less work on your end

  7. Click Done to update the changes to your message

Note: Any changes you make to the message will only show up in the text message, not in the email message to the patient. The email will only include the original message, which cannot be customized.

  8. Click Generate to create a scheduling link and send it to the patient
