We’ve all heard the phrase, “Work smarter, not harder”. Have you ever wondered what it takes to do that?

When trying to have a productive workday, preparation is key to success. Here are three ways that you can prepare to have an efficient day:

1. Prioritize today’s to-do list.

  • Pick 2-3 items that need to get done today.

  • Define what success looks like for your day. If you accomplish your 2-3 items for the day, great work! Today has been a success.

2. Create your list of unconfirmed patients for today and tomorrow.

  • Creating a list should be one of the first things you do; assess which patients you need to call or text and identify potential openings in the schedule.

3. Prepare with your Morning Huddle.

  • Check for these opportunities walking through your doors today: new patients, birthdays, unscheduled hygiene patients, or unscheduled family members.

Taking these steps will help you reduce stress throughout your day and become efficient, allowing you to do what you love most: take care of your patients!
