The Open Dental production report can be run in a few different ways to derive production, collections, and adjustment numbers. We do NOT recommend running reports using “Procedure Date”. If you would like to run an Open Dental report that is accurate and give you the same numbers you see in Dental Intel follow the instructions below.

Running a Production Report in Open Dental

  • Click on Reports, then Standard

  • In the Production and Income click on More Options

  • In Date Range change the time period to match a time period in the dashboard, such as a week or a month

  • Run the report for ALL Providers

  • Click “Using insurance payment date” this is important

  • Click OK

Look at the Dental Intel Performance Board for the same time period to see completed (1) Production and (2) Adjustments. The Collections Board will show (3) Collections for that same period. Please note that our Net Production (which Open Dental calls Total Production) does not include the remainder of your Scheduled production, while Open Dental's does.
