Using kiosks at your practice can streamline the patient check-in process, as well as make filling out forms and reviewing treatment plans in-office easier than ever. You can use kiosk for the following actions:

Checking In Using a Kiosk

If your practice has enabled the Check-in Request TouchPoint, patients can check in using the mobile app, via text or email, or directly through a kiosk device.

With the Check-In Request TouchPoint enabled, if a patient arrives before checking in, you can ask them to check-in at the kiosk using the Modento Kiosk app.

At the kiosk, they’ll see a Check In Here button. If their paperwork is complete, their appointment status will update automatically in your practice management software. If not, the kiosk will guide them to complete any necessary forms before the status is updated.

Filling Out Forms at a Kiosk

Your kiosk device is a convenient tool for patients to fill out forms, even if you don’t use the Engagement platform for check-in. Patients receive form requests and appointment reminders by text or email. However, if they arrive at your practice with missing forms, you can quickly send these forms to the kiosk.

Click on the patient 3-dot menu next to their name, hover over Forms and then click Prepare forms and consents.

Next, choose the Kiosk delivery option. If you have multiple kiosks registered, you can specify which device to use.

If you select Present as QR-code for filling on patient's device, the kiosk will display a QR code on the kiosk for the patient to scan and complete forms on their phone, freeing up the kiosk for the next patient.

If you plan to have a patient fill out their form(s) on the kiosk, the option that requires patients to access the kiosk with their initials is checked by default. This ensures that the correct patient is filling out the forms tied to their chart.

Once forms are submitted, they’re automatically sent to the practice management software, with an additional PDF copy saved for your records.

Reviewing Treatment Plans at a Kiosk

Your kiosk can be a powerful tool for reviewing and accepting treatment plans. Patients can view, sign, and submit treatment plans directly on the device, and you’ll receive an automatic update in your practice management software.

To send a treatment plan to a kiosk, click on the patient 3-dot menu next to their name, then hover over Forms and click Prepare a treatment plan. In the Send To option, select Kiosk and choose your device.
