In addition to setting up provider availability directly within Dental Intelligence, you can also set up specific blocks that allow you to tailor the schedule to restrict or allow specific services.
Create a Time Block in Dental Intelligence Online Scheduling
In the left side menu of Dental Intelligence, click on Scheduling > Online Scheduling > Time Blocks
To create a new block, click the Create block button
Name the block
Select the operatories and days of the week that the block should be applied to
Set the block time period
Set the date range that the block should be applied to (choosing an end date is optional)
Next, choose the scheduling or service type rules that should apply to the block:
Don't allow scheduling: Restrict patients from booking appointments when this block is on the schedule
Selected service(s) only: Only allow patients to book appointments for the selected service types when this block is on the schedule
Selected service(s) but others OK too: Allow patients to book appointments for the selected service types as well as other service types that have not been selected
Lastly, choose services: Select the service type(s) that should be available to book during this block (choose one or multiple services to apply)
When finished, click Create
To edit an existing block, click on the pencil icon. To delete a block, click on the trashcan icon.
Enable Provider Availability and Time Blocks Settings in Dental Intelligence
After you’ve finished setting up all time blocks and provider availability in Dental Intelligence, the next step is to enable Dental Intelligence to read them from Dental Intelligence and override what has been set up in your practice management software. This ensures that patients can only book appointments during the actual open time slots that have been configured for each provider/block.
To enable Dental Intelligence Time Blocks and Providers Availability, navigate to Schedule > Online Scheduling > General Settings.
Then, toggle on the Override the PMS configuration switch. When the switch turns green, it means Dental Intelligence is now using the provider schedules and time blocks configured within the platform instead of those from your PMS.
Once enabled, time blocks will show on the LiveOps® schedule.
