Note on goals: The Production Goal is the sum of individual goals for providers who have scheduled or completed production that day. Providers with no activity are excluded from the goal total.

Collections

The total money received by the practice for the selected period, broken down into four components:

Collections (Total): All payments received or recorded in the patient ledger.
Collections - Insurance: Payments received from insurance carriers on submitted claims.
Collections - Patient: Payments received directly from patients, recorded in the patient ledger.
Write-offs / Adjustments: Total insurance write-offs and other adjustments (shown for context, not added to collections).

Patient Diagnostic %

Measures the percentage of unique patients seen and had treatment documented or completed on the day of their appointment.

Calculation: Patients with a documented treatment need / Total unique patients seen.

A patient is counted if, on the day of their appointment, treatment was either added to their treatment planner or completed same-day without prior scheduling.

This reflects how consistently providers are diagnosing and presenting treatment to patients.

Tx Acceptance %

Measures the percentage of presented treatment dollars that patients agreed to.

Calculation: Dollars Accepted / Dollars Presented.

Treatment is counted as accepted if it was scheduled from the treatment planner or completed same-day without prior scheduling.

This is a dollar-weighted metric. A single high-value case acceptance has more impact than several low-value ones. Compare with Patient Acceptance % for a volume-based view.

Patient Acceptance %

Measures the percentage of patients who agreed to at least some of their recommended treatment.

Calculation: Patients who accepted treatment / Patients presented with treatment.

A patient is counted as accepting if they scheduled treatment from their planner or had unscheduled treatment completed same-day.

This is a patient-count metric, not dollar-weighted. Compare with Tx Acceptance % to understand both the volume and value of case acceptance.

Hygiene Reappointment %

Measures how effectively the practice keeps hygiene patients on a continuous care schedule.

Calculation: Hygiene visits where the patient scheduled a future hygiene appointment before leaving / Total hygiene visits.

A higher percentage indicates stronger recall systems and patient retention. Industry benchmark is typically 85-90%.

NP Hygiene Reappointment %

Measures how effectively the practice converts new patients into returning hygiene patients.

Calculation: New patients who scheduled a future hygiene appointment before leaving / Total new patients seen.

This is a leading indicator of long-term patient retention. A low rate may indicate the reappointment conversation at checkout needs attention.

Unscheduled Patients Rescheduled

Tracks the number of active patients who were previously unscheduled but were booked for a future appointment during the selected period.

This reflects the practice's reactivation efforts - phone outreach, recall campaigns, or front desk follow-up bringing lapsed patients back onto the schedule.

Unscheduled Active Patients

The current count of active patients who have no future appointment on the books.

In Analytics, active patients are defined as those who are marked as "active" in your practice management software AND completed an appointment in the past 18 months. This number represents the practice's immediate reactivation opportunity - the larger this number, the more untapped scheduled revenue is available.

Fluoride Treatment %

Measures how consistently fluoride treatments are offered and completed during hygiene visits.

Calculation: Hygiene visits with a fluoride code (D1206 or D1208) recorded / Total qualifying hygiene visits.

Qualifying hygiene visits include: periodontal scaling (D4341, D4342), periodontal maintenance (D4910), adult prophylaxis (D1110), and child prophylaxis (D1120).

This metric helps identify opportunities to improve preventive care recommendations and associated revenue.

Prior Tx Accepted (Available for Open Dental users only)

Measures how much previously presented treatment was accepted by patients seen during the selected period.

Treatment is counted as accepted if it was either completed at the visit or scheduled for a future appointment.

This highlights the value of re-presenting treatment - patients who declined previously may say yes when re-engaged at a follow-up visit.

Note: Available for Open Dental users only.
