Setting clear goals is one of the smartest ways your practice can grow — and tracking them easily within the platform makes it even simpler. Here’s how to get it done.
Why Practice Goals Matter
When your team knows what they’re aiming for, performance becomes visible and growth becomes possible. With the Practice Goals feature in the Analytics module, you can either manually set targets or let the system calculate them automatically. The best choice depends on your preference and what works for your practice.

Auto-Calculated Production Goal
If you’d like Dental Intelligence to calculate your Production goal automatically, you can turn on the Auto-Calculate From Provider Goals option for that metric.
When enabled, Dental Intelligence totals your providers’ Production Per Hour goals and their scheduled hours to create one overall Practice Production Goal — no manual math required.
Example:
Dr. Jones has a Production Per Hour goal of $500 and is scheduled for 9 hours today → $500 × 9 = $4,500
Dr. Smith has a Production Per Hour goal of $400 and is scheduled for 8 hours → $400 × 8 = $3,200
Your daily Practice Production Goal would be $7,700
This calculation automatically adjusts based on each provider’s working hours and individual Production Per Hour goal, so your practice goal always reflects real, up-to-date data.
The Auto-Calculated Goal option applies only to the Production metric. All other goals must be set manually.
