If you have a patient that is consistently late to their appointments, you can attach a specific "buffer" code to their appointment, and when we send out the automated appointment reminder, we will inform the patient that their appointment is a number of minutes earlier than it actually appears on your schedule. This way you can still maintain a full schedule without having to block off more time for the patient and they will hopefully get to the office earlier than usual or even on time!

Add a Buffer Code to an Appointment in Dentrix Ascend

  1. When creating an appointment for a patient in Dentrix Ascend, add the code (MODNO, MOD10, MOD15, MOD30, MOD45...) to the Other field in the appointment window

  2. Once you've added your MOD code (NO, 10, 15, 30...), be sure to save the appointment
