NEW! AI Tools at Dental Intelligence

AI Receptionist

Dental Intelligence AI Receptionist is an add-on to our Engagement Module. If you're interested in learning more about AI Receptionist and setting it up for your practice, CLICK HERE to request a demo!

Nearly half of all inbound calls to a dental practice come after hours — and 78% of those callers won't leave a voicemail. Dental Intelligence AI Receptionist answers every call the moment it comes in, whether it's 9pm on a Tuesday or 7am on a holiday.

It knows your patients and your practice — answering questions, sharing personalized info, confirming insurance, and collecting outstanding balances without your team lifting a finger. Your team walks in the next morning with a clear summary of every interaction, instead of a voicemail avalanche.

What AI Receptionist can do:

  • Answer every call in under 5 seconds — after hours, weekends, and holidays

  • Automatically identify new vs. existing patients by phone number, name, and date of birth

  • Verify patient identity with a one-time passcode (OTP) before sharing sensitive account info

  • Share outstanding balances, upcoming appointments, treatment status, and hygiene due dates with verified patients

  • Confirm appointments for existing patients

  • Send payment requests during the call (*requires DI Payments)

  • Confirm whether an insurance carrier is in or out of network

  • Deliver a detailed call summary to your Personal Assistant inbox after every interaction

  • Handle overflow calls during business hours so no call goes to voicemail

AI Receptionist is HIPAA compliant and integrates with your existing VoIP provider and practice management system. It's available now as an add-on to the Engagement Module.

Explorer

Explorer is part of the Analytics Module. If you're interested in learning more, CLICK HERE to request a demo!

Explorer is a conversational AI assistant built directly inside Dental Intelligence. Instead of navigating multiple dashboards or building reports manually, simply ask Explorer a question and get an instant, actionable answer powered by your own practice data — no SQL, no spreadsheets, no switching between tools.

What Explorer can do:

  • Ask any question about your practice data — revenue, production, patient trends, collections, treatment acceptance, and more

  • Get answers with charts, graphs, and comparison tables generated on the spot, ready to download for presentations or team meetings

  • Receive actionable recommendations — Explorer identifies what's driving your KPIs and suggests specific actions to improve results

  • Run "what-if" scenarios to test strategies before implementing them (e.g., "What if we increased crown production by 15%?")

  • Generate presentation-ready content: executive summaries, team emails, meeting briefs, and downloadable visuals

  • Continue previous conversations — Explorer saves your chat history so you can pick up where you left off

Explorer operates entirely within Dental Intelligence — your practice data is never exported or shared externally. Fully HIPAA and BAA compliant.

Patient Scoring

The Patient Score is available as part of the Engagement Module. If you’re interested in learning more, CLICK HERE to request a demo!

The Patient Score is an AI-driven metric in Dental Intelligence that helps your team identify which patients are most likely to schedule an appointment. A percentage score is automatically calculated daily for each patient and is visible throughout multiple Dental Intelligence features — so your team can prioritize outreach and fill appointment slots faster, without any extra manual work.

What the Patient Score does:

  • Calculates a daily AI-driven percentage score for every patient based on treatment history, engagement patterns, and financial attributes

  • Surfaces scores across Action Items lists (Broken Appointment, Hygiene Past Due, Outstanding Treatment, and ASAP), the Scheduling Center, and LiveOps®

  • Updates every day — always reflects the most current patient data

Map multiple provider IDs per user

Now your office admin can map multiple provider IDs to a single user in Dental Intelligence. To map multiple provider IDs to a user, navigate to Settings > Users > 3-dot menu > Edit.

If providers have access to multiple locations, map primary and secondary IDs for each practice location needed.

Note: You can only map one primary provider ID per user, however, you can map as many additional secondary provider IDs to the user as you'd like.

Updates to the Engagement Module

Missed Appointment TouchPoint

Last-minute cancellations and no-shows don't have to mean lost opportunities. With the new Missed Appointment TouchPoint™, an automated message is triggered by breaking the appointment in your PMS whenever a patient cancels late or misses their appointment — no manual follow-up required.

This timely, personalized outreach helps you re-engage patients while the visit is still top of mind, making it easy for them to rebook and reducing the risk of losing them to inactivity. Keep your schedule full and your patients cared for, even when plans change.

Understanding the difference between a Cancelled Appointment and a Missed Appointment

How appointments are deleted or broken in your practice management software impacts the way Dental Intelligence registers the event, typically as either a cancelled appointment (the patient provided at least 24 hours notice), or as a missed appointment (the patient provided less than 24 hours notice or did not show up to their appointment).

Performance stats now available for General Scheduling link

You can now track performance statistics for your General Scheduling link directly from Schedule > Performance URL's Activity section. Alongside your custom scheduling links, the General Scheduling link will now display data across key performance indicators:

  • Link opened

  • Scheduled (all practices)

  • Scheduled (this practice)

  • New patients

  • Existing patients

This improvement brings your General Scheduling link in line with the reporting experience you already have for custom links, so you can make more informed decisions about your scheduling strategy in one unified view.

Note: General Scheduling link performance data will be tracked starting on July 10, 2026. Historical clicks and scheduling information that occurred prior to July 10, 2026 is not available.
