Using DI Voice in the Dental Intelligence Portal

DI Voice requires a subscription. Don't have DI Voice yet? Connect with our sales team to get a demo!

Note: The Engagement Module must be included in your Dental Intelligence subscription in order to utilize the DI Voice integration.

When your practice uses DI Voice, the native phone system from Dental Intelligence, patient calls, call summaries, and voicemails live right alongside your patient records in the Dental Intelligence portal. Your team can call a patient with one click, see an automatic summary of every call on the Patient Card, and get voicemail alerts in the Personal Assistant inbox, all without leaving Dental Intelligence.

What's included in this integration:

✓ Click-to-call from the Patient Card

✓ Automatic call summaries on the Patient Card, written back to your PMS

✓ Voicemail and missed call notifications in the Personal Assistant inbox

✓ A complete, unified communication history for every patient

How to Use DI Voice in the Dental Intelligence Portal

Map your team to start making calls

Each Dental Intelligence user that needs to place or answer calls should be mapped to a DI Voice extension. Set this up in Settings > Users. Open the user profile and click on the Integrations tab, then select the appropriate extension from the DI Voice user mapping dropdown.

Call patients from the Patient Card

Reach a patient about an appointment, treatment plan, or follow-up without dialing by hand. The patient's record stays on screen the whole time, so you have their context during the conversation.

How it works

  1. In Dental Intelligence, open the patient card by clicking on a patient's name

  2. Click on the phone icon next to the patient's phone number

  3. Choose the extension to initiate the call from

  4. DI Voice places the call. The Patient Card stays open so you can reference stats and notes while you talk

Why it matters

  • No switching screens to place a call

  • Patient context stays front and center

  • Outreach on busy days takes one click instead of several steps

See every call on the Patient Card

Every answered call, missed call, and voicemail is documented automatically in the Calls section of the Patient Card. When a call ends, DI Voice creates an AI-generated summary so your team can see what was discussed and what follow-up may be needed.

What gets captured automatically

  • A short AI-generated summary of the conversation

  • Call duration and timestamp

Coming soon: Call Sentiment Analysis. Each call on the Patient Card will show a sentiment rating, so you can tell at a glance how a conversation went. You'll see a Patient sentiment column in the Calls list, and when you open a call's summary you'll see both Patient sentiment and Practice sentiment.

Why it matters: spot unhappy patients quickly so you can follow up before a concern grows, see how your team comes across on the phone, and use real calls as coaching moments.

Why it matters

  • No need for manual call notes

  • A permanent and searchable record for compliance and continuity of care

  • One shared view of every patient interaction for your whole team

  • Call summaries also write back to your practice management system (PMS), so your records stay complete wherever your team looks

Get voicemail alerts in the Personal Assistant inbox

Voicemails and missed calls appear in the Personal Assistant inbox, the same place your front desk already handles texts, emails, and patient forms. Click any Voice notification to read the transcript before you call back.

Why it matters

  • Your front desk stays in one system instead of toggling between Dental Intelligence and another VoIP portal

  • No voicemail falls through the cracks

  • Voicemail transcripts give your team the full picture before they call back
