We’ve all heard the phrase, “Work smarter, not harder”. Have you ever wondered what it takes to do that?

When trying to be productive in your workday, preparation is key to having success. Here are three ways that you can prepare to have an efficient day:

1. Prioritize today's to-do list:

  • Pick 2-3 items that are crucial to be done today.

  • Define what success looks like for your day. If you accomplish your 2-3 items for the day, great work! Today has been a success.

2. Prepare with your Morning Huddle:

  • Identify patients with a balance to collect.

  • Verify opportunities for patients with remaining insurance.

  • Encourage your team to reach their goals and capitalize on opportunities.

3. Keep a pulse on your practice:

  • Did your practice meet its production and collection goals yesterday?

  • Are you scheduled to meet goals today?

  • Are you scheduled to meet goals tomorrow? If not, can you fill any holes with procedures or appointments to meet those goals?

Taking these steps will help you reduce stress throughout your day and become efficient, allowing you to do what you love most: take care of your patients!
