You may hear or see the term source data or metric details when navigating between dashboards or watching educational videos in Analytics. Source data is used to create the graphs, metrics, and charts throughout the platform. Reviewing the underlying metric details can be very helpful when you would like to learn more information about how the metric has been calculated.

Tip: Have questions about what a metric means? Click on the i icon to view metric definitions and examples.

How to Access Metric Details

Accessing metric details is easy! Just locate the magnifying glass icon on any of the metrics found on the Performance or Collection Board.

Click on the magnifying glass icon to open the source data. Depending on the metric that you have clicked on, you can use additional features/filters to sort the source data.

For example:

  • Click on the calendar button to adjust the data range of the current source data

  • Use the search bar to find certain patients by name

  • Click on filter dropdowns (if available) to show only certain pieces of the source data

If you notice any metrics that don't have a magnifying glass available, source data is not available for review. Instead, click on the report icon to view trends over time.

How to Export Source Data

Most source data on the Performance Board and Collections Board can also be exported as a .csv file by clicking on the Export button in the expanded source data.

The source data shows what information is being used to calculate the numbers for a metric. This often includes patient names, procedure codes, and other key details. After you click to export, the .csv file will appear in the bottom left corner of your browser allowing you save and open the source data in Microsoft Excel.

The following metrics on the Performance Board ticker cannot be exported:

  • Tomorrow's Scheduled Production

  • Today's Scheduled Production
