Understanding the New Toll-Free Verification Requirements
Beginning September 15, 2026, carriers will require additional business details for new toll-free number verifications. These requirements apply across the industry and are designed to help confirm legitimate business use of toll-free numbers.
What information will be required?
In order for us to submit your office's toll-free number verification, you'll need to provide Dental Intelligence with the following information (and documents):

What is a Business Registration Number (BRN)?
A Business Registration Number (BRN) is an official number assigned to a business by a government authority. Common examples include:
United States: Employer Identification Number (EIN)
Canada: Canadian Business Number (CBN)
Other countries: A government-issued business registration number specific to your country
Business Registration Type
This identifies the type of registration number being provided, such as:
EIN
CBN
Other government-issued business identifiers
Business Entity Type
This describes your business’s legal structure. Examples include:
Sole Proprietor
Private For-Profit Business

This refers to the country where your business is officially registered and is typically provided using a two-letter country code (for example, US or CA).
Additional Requirements (Effective September 15, 2026)
Effective September 15, 2026, carriers will also require the following for all new toll-free verifications:
Privacy Policy URL — must be live and directly accessible, and must explicitly state that consumer information is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes
Terms & Conditions URL — must be live and directly accessible, and must include an SMS disclosure covering message types, frequency, data rates, opt-out instructions, and a link to your privacy policy
Important: Registrations submitted without these URLs after September 15, 2026 will be rejected by the carrier.
What do I need to do?
If your office's Dental Intelligence subscription begins on or after September 15, 2026, we'll need to have all business registration and website details in order to submit your toll-free number verification.
