Learn about practice management software compatibility and system requirements

In order to operate Dental Intelligence on your local server, your system must meet the requirements outlined below:


Supported Practice Management Software

Dental Intelligence is compatible with the following Practice Management Software types. Check to ensure that your Practice Management Software version is listed below.


  • G7.9

  • 22

  • 23* (up to 23.4)

Dentrix Enterprise

  • 10

  • 11* (up to 11.0.2)


  • 20

  • 21

  • 22* (up to 22.00)

Open Dental

  • 21

  • 22

  • 23* (up to 23.1)

Minimum Operating System Requirements

  • Windows 10

  • Window Server 2016

  • Most Recent Security Updates Installed

The Dental Intelligence server must be installed on a Windows machine.

Hardware Requirements


2 cores at 2.4 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 40 GB available disk space


4 cores at 2.4 GHz, 16+ GB RAM, 100 GB available disk space

Minimum Network Requirements

  • Business Class High Speed Internet connection

  • HTTPS over Port 443

Analytics Portal

Supported Internet Browsers

  • Chrome

  • Firefox

Running the Analytics Sync Client

The Analytics Sync Client must be installed on the same machine where the Practice Management Software database is installed. The server computer running the Analytics Sync Client must remain powered on to allow the sync tool to run.

LocalMed is compatible with the following Practice Management Softwares:

  • Dentrix: versions 14.2+, 15.1+, G6, G7 and higher, Enterprise 7, Enterprise 8, Enterprise 11

  • Eaglesoft: versions 17 and higher

  • OpenDental: versions 16 and higher

  • Easy Dental: versions 11.4 and higher

  • OrthoTrac: versions 11+, 12+, 14+, 15, and higher

  • Dolphin: versions 7 and higher

  • Practice Web: versions 16 and higher

  • Tracker: version 11 only

  • Denticon: All versions

  • ABELDent: versions 13+

  • Curve: All versions


Syncing multiple bridges for the same database can present problems and is not advised.

Engagement is compatible with the following Practice Management Softwares:

Eaglesoft: versions 18.1 and above (Eaglesoft API server must be installed for full functionality)

OpenDental: versions 17.4 / 7.4 or above

Dentrix: versions 6.3 and above (the most recent version of 23.4 is recommended)

Important note for Dentrix users: Dentrix version 23.3 is not compatible with forms writeback in Engagement. In order to writeback forms, you must be on Dentrix version 23.4.
