Engagement: Forms and Consents Writeback

Learn about the writeback process for forms and consents and their saved location in your practice management software

When forms and consents are completed in Engagement, they will automatically write back into your practice management software. Depending on the type of software your practice utilizes, forms and consents will writeback into certain areas within your practice management software.

Eaglesoft

Forms and consents will upload in SmartDocs in Eaglesoft. Watch the short video below to learn more:


Open Dental

Forms and consents will upload into Images in Open Dental. Watch the short video below to learn more:


Dentrix

Forms and consents will upload into the Document Center in Dentrix. Watch the short video below to learn more:

Important note for Dentrix users: Dentrix version 23.3 is not compatible with forms writeback in Engagement. In order to writeback forms, you must be on Dentrix version 23.4.

When forms and consents are pushed into the Document Center, they will appear with a string of characters in the title/name. This behavior is expected. It prevents duplicate forms from being uploaded into your Document Center and cluttering your folders.

Important note for Dentrix users: In order for new patient forms to be automatically added into the Dentrix Document Center, they must have a patient chart created prior to submitting any forms.


Dentrix Ascend (Beta)

Forms and consents write back to Patient > Patient Information in Dentrix Ascend.

Forms and consents will upload as a PDF into the Patient Document Manager in Dentrix Ascend.

The following new patient information does not write back to fields within Dentrix Ascend:

  • Work address

  • Emergency contact

  • Social security number

  • Gender

  • Middle initial
