Why can't I access certain dashboards or actions in Dental Intelligence?

Unable to access features or click on certain actions? Learn more about user permissions and updating your user access levels

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Dental Intelligence users have access to dashboards and features in Engagement and Analytics based on the permissions settings that have been set up in their user profile(s).

As a reminder: If your practice utilizes Engagement and Analytics, make sure that you have a user account created for each module.

Engagement Users

If you can't access certain dashboards or clickable actions in Engagement, it's likely that your user permissions have not been set to 'Full' in Engagement Settings. If you need total access to certain features or actions in Engagement, make sure that your user settings are set to 'Full' for those features.

If a user has 'Limited' permissions, they may be able to view a dashboard, but are unable to click on buttons or menus to take action within the dashboard. 'Limited' permission is the equivalent to view-only access.

If a user has an access level of 'None', they will be unable to view that feature within Engagement at all.

Performance Improvement Techniques

If the Analytics or Engagement Portals are slow or not functioning optimally, try the following steps to improve its performance:

  1. Clear Browser Cache: Caches can store outdated data, leading to performance issues. Clear the cache from your browser to resolve most issues.

  2. Use a Different Browser: Switching to another browser can sometimes resolve issues specific to your current setup.

  3. Check System Status: Occasionally, slowness may result from server-side issues. Verify if there are any known platform concerns here.

Handling Dashboard Loading Concerns

If a feature or dashboard fails to load completely, it could signal an outage or other platform-related problem:

Feature Availability and Practice-Specific Settings

In certain cases, some features of the Analytics or Engagement Portals may not be accessible:

  • Product Not Activated: Features may not show up if they are not activated for your specific practice location. Contact your administrator to verify and append missing products if necessary.
