Sending Payment Requests to patients through Engagement [Modento] will reduce the need for mailed paper statements and will simplify the payment process for your patients! Here is a short video about Sending a Payment Request:

Sending a Payment Request

Step by Step Instructions:

  1. Access the Patients tab

  2. Select the Three Dot Menu next to the patient's initials

  3. Hover over Communication

  4. Click Send a Payment Request

  5. Enter in the Dollar Amount to request

  6. Click the check box to Add a Note for the patient

  7. Click the check box to Attach a Statement

  8. Click Load to pull the most recent statement from your Practice Management Software (Note: this will work for Open Dental)

    1. For Eaglesoft or Dentrix, you must save the statement as a file from your Practice Management Software, then upload it into the Payment Request by selecting the Choose File button

  9. Select the Delivery Channel Preference

  10. Click Send

Posting Payments to Ledger

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Access the Inbox tab

  2. Click on Payment in the Filters menu to see a list of the patients that have completed a payment.

  3. For Open Dental practices, you will have the option to Post to Ledger from the notification

    Note: If you use Dentrix or Eaglesoft, you will need to manually post the payment to the ledger in the Practice Management Software.
